About the committee

A Parliamentary Committee of Inquiry will produce a basis for decision-making that enables the gradual and long-term introduction of full or partial State mandatorship of health care. 

This assignment only encompasses regionally-funded health care and thus does not include mandatorship for municipally-funded health care. This assignment does not include the submission of legislative proposals.

This assignment shall be reported no later than 02 June 2025.

o   The Committee's tasks include:

• analysing and highlighting the advantages and disadvantages of full or partial State mandatorship of health care,
• making proposals to ensure a more efficient healthcare system that is patient-centred and takes into account the needs of employees,
• proposing an implementation plan, including a timetable, for gradual and long-term, full or partial State mandatorship of health care, and
• identifying, within the framework of the implementation plan, the measures required to implement the Committee's proposals.
